Default Anets Wishlist

Thnx to everyone reading this

You see many, many suggestions in here, some people don't like, some that people do like.
I'm also seeing all signs of people loosing their fun in GuildWars.

So to keep GuildWars, and therefor GuildWars2 aswell, more alive, I think this would be a good suggestion to perform for the Anet develop team

So this is what I was thinking;
A quarterly (every 3 months) wishlist on www.guildwars.com. They just make a list of small wishes they think they can make the GuildWars community happy with. Every 3 month there will be, for example, 4 wishes to choose from. Everyone can loggin on their account and vote for one of those wishes.
Ideas of those wishes can be picked up here, or be thought of themselves.

I alrdy here some of you shouting; This is never going to happen, Anet is only investing time in GuildWars2. And though this last thing might be true, this still could happen if Anet gives it the right time of reset (I think 3 months are fair, enough time to test). Maybe they need to expand the develop team abit, but I think that imput (more people to pay) is smaller then the output (a more satisfied GuildWars community, and therefor more customers who will buy GuildWars2). I havent studied economy, and I guess GuildWars2 is going to be so late, its going to have a new puplic, but I still think this is a fair thing to say.

So I hope and pray, Anet reads this, and agrees with me. It might help if you go scream and shout, we want this! we love this! and if we dont get this, we will burn the Anet office down!

I think Anet is very much aware of what the community wants (PvE and PvP). At this time, things people really want are already getting posted over and over. They'd only need to glance through the Suggestions Sticky. However, what do we want the most?

Since a new cycle of bigger updates has started (3-4 months each), I think, maybe, a bigger influence from our side could be possible. However, I think something like this first has to be polled. Make a range of Update Suggestions to choose from. PvE to PvP, Armor to quests, missions to new PvP modes. Let us as community give a full overview of what the _entire_ community thinks is most needed.

Ingame Polls have already been suggested. Would make a perfect example of how to hear everyones opinion.

So, I'd say take your Suggestion one step backwards, Crucist Ovv. First show Anet what we really want.

I think this is probably one of the best ideas to ever come to Sadarlec. However, I do doubt that Anet will implement it.

I really wish they would though as atleast then we would get updates we actually want rather than the old "you want an update? Kilroy now has a new skill!" type of updates.

That being said, if they did implement this for GW2 I think we would have a much better community and playing experience

Last I was aware, ANet was supposed to be giving us content updates every ~3 months. If they had already declared that, I'm sure they know of a few things that they want to work on for... July now?

What I want, personally, is improvement on things that we already have, mainly the Dishonor system, skill balances, and other broken things. I'd rather they work on polishing the game they have rather than give us more junk to do.

This would be terrible. Democracy fails, especially in Guild Wars.
Obviously we should just make someone smart be the devolper and all will be fixed.

cool idea, but in reality we all know what four suggestions would appear EVERY three months:

1. No hero cap
2. Add character appearance NPC's
3. some type of FREE storage expansion
4. random pve/pvp nerf/buff

1-3 are out obviously, which leaves #4 which is what they've been doing the past few months anyway.

yes, and this is the whole problem

if the updates were not random but thought through there would be no pnh for example.

Suggesting to ANet what they should do is always a bad idea. It's very tough to tell a business how they should run themselves.

And yes, everyone is working on GW2, this "Big April Update" took a lot of work fromt he few people still working on GW1 and the fact that they don't have time to implement a skill balance right now shows that there is NO WAY they have time to update the website every three months with random new ideas to implement.

are you serious?
having Anet do what they think it is best is probably the worsest idea ever. For example, check out the game updates or their naming policy.

Wishlist:

1. Balance the ^&@#ing game, it doesn't have to be perfect just make the game less about build wars and give different viable builds - everyone running the same 2 or 3 builds makes me want to scratch my eyes out.

2. Tone down with the naming policy, ban obviously offensive names but if in doubt, don't ban someones characters/guilds (and waste their hard work)

While i could pull off a full list i would be happy with that.

This actually happened because after being banned twice kaon managed to convince Anet their old policy was unreasonable.

I would appreciate any kind of voting system. Specially if they make an in-game NPC interface.

Talk to NPC, NPC explains the votation and give links to more extense explanations, and allow you to cast one vote per account.

Being ingame, those that will vote will be those that actually play... or at least enter to chat.

i think it would be nice to have direct game content input from players, but i wouldn't trust players to propose or choose options that are good for the game as a whole lol. people will only suggest and choose things that benefit them directly, such is the woe of human nature ;-)

Nice idea, I like this a lot.

The only concern I might have off the top of my head is people with multiple accounts being able to sway the general player consensus. A little extreme I admit but might be food for thought.

Not that we are likely to get this too. But nothing wrong with good ideas!

And thats the main reason AGAINST this - the lobby of players who buy tons of accounts could be too strong of a force there.

Also, the whole voting should be done right and fair - NOT like OP described. There should always be an option to vote AGAINST a suggestion, not just choose your favorite.
That's because changes that would 'improve' the game for the majority (most often just make it easier or give freebies) can completely ruin it for for a smaller but still significant group of players (maybe the most devoted fans) and in the end being BAD for the game as a whole.

I remember that another game tried doing this, with letting the players decide what to choose. it didnt work, it failed and i think was removed. The dev team couldnt keep up with the votes...

Exactly why I'm against this idea. Majority tyranny is bad news.

Eve is totally different from Guild Wars.
Also, did in Eve the players themselves design the game skills/equipment/whatever??
Doubt it.
